Demand at a deposit auction held by the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) has 2.6 times exceeded supply, the CBA said Dec. 12.

The CBA received 50 million manats (1.743 AZN/USD on Dec. 12) from banks for deposit, while the demand was 130 million manats.

The Central Bank began to hold deposit auctions in mid-June 2016.

Thirty two banks, including two state-owned ones, operate in Azerbaijan.
