Speaker of Armenian Parliament: Yerevan ready to sign peace treaty with Baku

Yerevan is interested and ready to sign a peace treaty with Baku, Speaker of the Armenian Parliament Alen Simonyan said at a press conference in Ankara, reported from Sputnik-Armenia.

"We see no problems in opening the region in terms of trade, in the free movement of citizens and goods from Azerbaijan to Nakhchivan, as well as Türkiye, taking into account the legislation and sovereignty of Armenia,” Simonyan said.

At the same time, Simonyan stressed that the establishment of peace in the region is impossible without Türkiye. In this regard, Yerevan hopes that Türkiye will take steps in this direction, he added.

Speaking about the normalization of relations between Armenia and Türkiye, Simonyan noted that this requires political will.
