EU expects Azerbaijan Partnership Priorities document to be approved by year-end
The European Union expects the “Partnership Priorities” document with Azerbaijan to be approved by the end of this year, EU Ambassador to Azerbaijan Marijana Kujudžić said.
According to the ambassador, the parties have completed the preliminary coordination of the document’s text and have officially resumed negotiations on a new bilateral agreement.
Kujudžić noted that the document will next be submitted to Brussels, where the approval procedures will be carried out.
“Although this process will take some time, our goal is to complete all procedures by the end of the year,” she said.
The ambassador added that discussions on the partnership and cooperation agreement are ongoing. She stressed that the negotiations concern a comprehensive framework document whose finalization requires time.
“As with any framework agreement, a normal negotiation process is underway,” Kujudžić stated.
