Toivo Klaar hails meeting between Turkish, Armenian envoys on normalization

Normalization of relations and the reopening of communications between Türkiye-Armenia are essential elements for a more stable and prosperous South Caucasus, EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar said on X.
He hailed the Tuesday meeting held on the Türkiye-Armenia border between the special envoys of the two countries on normalization as an important meeting.
On July 30, the special representatives for the normalization process between Armenia and Türkiye, Deputy Chairman of the National Assembly of Armenia Ruben Rubinyan and Ambassador Serdar Kilic,held their fifth meeting at the Alican-Margara border crossing point between the two countries.
They agreed to assess the technical needs that will create opportunities for the launch of the Akyaka-Akhurik railway border crossing point, as well as mutually simplify visa procedures for holders of diplomatic/service passports, in accordance with regional developments.
