5 crazy things you missed

5 crazy things you missed
25.07.2014 22:00
Often some of the funniest, most interesting and quirky moments in sport go almost unnoticed, rarely featured in reports or blog posts.

So here are five ridiculous things you may not have already seen or heard about from the last few days.Did you see anything particularly noteworthy that passed off without mention? Feel free to bring it to our attention in the comments section below...1) OOPS! GERRARD FAREWELL GAFFE - Gerrard's 'fond farewell' gets very mixed upOne newspaper got awfully confused when bidding former England captain Steven Gerrard a 'fond farewell', and it really was pretty funny.Gerrard was given the send off: 'Fans give retiring Gerrard fond farewell from cricket' in the Vietnam News - certainly amongst his most bizarre tributes from around the world. It was a meaningful but ultimately flawed line from the paper, with cricket fans having not given much of a farewell to the Liverpool captain, despite the reports.Oh well, the picture must have led the editor to assume that he was in his whites. Easily done.2) WHAT ARE YOU DOING, WAYNE? - Rooney pops up in bizarre place... in Beverly Hills fire engineWell, no wonder Louis van Gaal was angry about the commercial rubbish some of his players have had to do so far on their trip to the USA.Wayne Rooney visited the Beverly Hills Fire Department along with other United stars as part of their pre-season tour and he even got to drive the fire engine. It was a bizarre sight seeing Rooney cruising through Beverly Hills before he posed in front of the engine and signed hundreds of footballs. Ah, modern football.3) WHAT'S THAT, TOP CYCLISTS ON THE MOTORWAY? - Four members of Sri Lanka's Commonwealth Games team stopped by police"The Sri Lankan cycling team cruising down the M74, lovely spot for a bike ride," wrote English triathlete Alistair Brownlee after spotting the group of Sri Lankans cycling on the M74.The junction is close to Strathclyde Park, which hosts the triathlon events."Police attended the scene and advice and assistance was given," Police Scotland said. The quartet were photographed by Olympic champion and England triathlete Alistair Brownlee, who proceeded to tweet the below picture.4) I'VE GOT A TRICK TO SHOW YOU ALL - Roma stars prank team-mate after he falls asleepThis is just mean, isn't it? Well, that or funny. Or both.Roma's Alessandro Florenzi had the audacity to fall asleep on a flight and so he was duly, and deservedly, pranked by all of his team-mates.The club are touring the USA in pre-season and the 23-year-old learned not to dare sleep around his friends after playing cards were scattered all over him and even placed in his mouth. Harsh.5) JAPANESE PRESENTER LEAVES RONALDO STUNNED - Poor Ronaldo left baffled on TV showAh, poor Cristiano Ronaldo. The superstar was left totally bewildered on a Japanese TV show.Frankly, it's very understandable why the Portugal captain was so confused given the absurdity of what was going on around him.The presenter decided that having arguably the world's best player in the studio meant only one thing was right to do: put a weird plastic contraption into his mouth and wave it around. Of course.(uk.eurosport.yahoo.com)Bakudaily.az
