Armenia may tighten penalties for those evading military service
Armenia is planning to tighten penalties for those evading military service and training gatherings, Report informs via Armenian media.

The draft of relevant amendments to the Criminal Code has been approved at a government meeting.

It is proposed to increase the imprisonment term for evading conscription from 2-5 years to 3-6 years. Additionally, the term for evading training gatherings would be set from 1 to 3 years, up from the current maximum of 2 years.

The bill prepared by the Ministry of Justice will be submitted to the parliament.
