Rainstorm causes traffic delays across Baku

Heavy rainfall has disrupted traffic on several major roads in Baku, prompting temporary restrictions, Azerbaijan’s Intelligent Transport Management Center said on Wednesday.

In the city’s Nizami district, traffic was restricted on Heydar Aliyev Avenue heading toward the center due to flooding in a tunnel beneath the Bagirov Bridge. Authorities have notified relevant agencies to address the situation.

Additional disruptions were reported at the intersection of Ziya Bunyadov Avenue and Ahmed Rajabli Street, as well as on the Airport Highway near the airport, also in the direction of the city center.

Police are taking measures to ensure road safety, officials said.
