Azerbaijan to sponsor 2027 FIS World Championships in Falun
16.05.2025 09:30

Azerbaijan will be a major sponsor of the 2027 FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun, Sweden, according to SVT, Sweden’s state-owned public broadcaster.

The announcement follows the signing of a five-year sponsorship deal between the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) and Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency.

“By joining FIS as a sponsor, Azerbaijan sees an opportunity to promote itself as a country developing winter sports,” SVT reported.

The strategic partnership, signed on May 6, aims to boost winter tourism and sports in Azerbaijan and facilitate the hosting of international winter sports events.

Starting from the 2025/26 season, Azerbaijan will serve as a global partner of all FIS World Championships and title sponsor of the World Cup series in moguls, aerials, ski cross, and snowboard cross. It will also act as an official partner in Nordic combined.

This marks the first time FIS has appointed a global partner across the full spectrum of winter disciplines, in a deal that extends beyond event sponsorship.
