UFC fighter Khalil Rountree tours Baku's Old City ahead of landmark event

Former UFC light heavyweight title contender Khalil Rountree visited Baku’s historic Old City (Icherisheher) ahead of his main event fight at the first-ever UFC event in Azerbaijan, scheduled for June 21 at Baku Crystal Hall.

During his tour, Rountree explored key landmarks including the Shirvanshahs’ Palace and the Maiden Tower, and participated in traditional Azerbaijani carpet weaving.

Rountree is set to face former UFC champion Jamahal Hill in the headlining bout. The co-main event will feature Azerbaijani fighter Rafael Fiziev against Chile’s Ignacio Bahamondes. Other local fighters on the card include Nazim Sadykhov, who will face Brazil’s Nikolas Motta, and Tofiq Musayev, who will take on Myktibek Orolbai of Kyrgyzstan.
