Azerbaijani students achieved outstanding results at the 5th European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI), held from July 14–20 in Bonn, Germany. Rahidil Bayramli, a 10th-grade student of the Baku Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics Lyceum, and Ayan Karimova, an 11th-grade student of the Ganja Physics, Mathematics, and Informatics Lyceum, were both awarded bronze medals. Ayten Iskandarova, a 10th-grade student from the same lyceum in Baku, received an honorable mention.

The competition, organized in the format of the International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI), brought together over 200 students from 61 countries. During the two days, girls participated in intensive five-hour programming sessions, demonstrating their algorithmic thinking and technical skills by solving complex problems. The submitted solutions were evaluated based on their functionality and technical accuracy.

Beyond the competition, the Olympiad also offered participants an opportunity to engage in cultural exchange and international networking. The students explored the cultural and historical landmarks of Bonn and took part in interactive sessions, sharing ideas and experiences with peers from around the world.

Since 2017, Azercell Telecom LLC, in partnership with the Ministry of Science and Education and the Institute of Education, has continuously supported Azerbaijani students in their preparation for international informatics Olympiads. Within this framework, female students have been regularly participating in EGOI for the past four years. The company’s support for such initiatives underscores its commitment to advancing IT and ICT education in the country, with a particular focus on encouraging female participation in these fields.

Azercell congratulates the talented students on their achievements and wishes them continued success in future competitions!
