30.07.2025 14:30

Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Justice has warned citizens not to carry the harmala plant (Peganum harmala) or its derivatives across borders due to the presence of psychoactive substances such as harmaline and harmine.

In some countries, possession or transport of the plant is prohibited and may lead to legal consequences.

The Forensic Expertise Center has issued a preventive advisory explaining the plant’s chemical properties, legal status, and associated risks.
