A large-scale cyberattack disrupted internet services in Azerbaijan on Thursday, affecting both mobile and home connections across the country, the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport said.

The ministry said the disruptions were caused by a DDoS attack against Delta Telecom, one of the country’s main backbone internet providers.

Authorities said they redirected traffic to alternative networks to restore access quickly, and services were resumed after the attack was repelled.

Earlier in the day, users across Azerbaijan reported difficulties accessing the internet and banking applications, with some unable to carry out online transactions.
