Azerbaijan to issue new generation ID cards

 Azerbaijan’s draft state budget for 2026 allocates 45 million manats for the production and printing of new-generation ID cards.

The funds will be used to introduce updated identity cards that meet modern security and data protection standards.

In July, President Ilham Aliyev approved amendments to the law “On the identity card of a citizen of the Republic of Azerbaijan.” Under the changes, the new IDs will include information on the holder’s place of residence and citizenship.
