Azerbaijan lose 3–1 to France in World Cup qualifier in Baku

Azerbaijan fell 3–1 to France in a 2026 World Cup qualifying match in Baku.

Renat Dadasov scored the only goal for the hosts, while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Maghnes Akliouche netted for France. Azerbaijan goalkeeper Shahruudin Makhammadaliyev conceded an own goal.

Azerbaijan’s Anton Krivotsyuk and Abdulla Khaibulayev were booked during the match.
