Azerbaijan hosts an international conference on nursing and midwifery
Baku hosted the First International Scientific and Practical Conference on Nursing and Midwifery of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan and Baku Basic Medical College No. 2.
The conference brought together senior officials, members of parliament, ambassadors of Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, medical experts, and representatives of leading educational and healthcare institutions from OTS countries.
Opening the event, Minister of Health Teymur Musayev highlighted the legacy of national leader Heydar Aliyev in strengthening medical education, noting that the achievements of the healthcare sector were made possible thanks to the policies of President Ilham Aliyev and the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
The minister stressed that College No. 2 plays an important role in preparing qualified mid-level medical specialists meeting modern standards, and that cooperation among OTS member states contributes to the development of the healthcare sector across the region.
Ambassadors of the Turkic states underlined the historical ties between their nations and praised the organization of the event.
Panel sessions focused on training in nursing and midwifery, digitalization and the role of artificial intelligence in medical education, and international standards in obstetrics. At the end of the conference, certificates were presented to participants and international guests.
