Protests continue across Iran

Mass protests are continuing across several major cities in Iran, including Tehran, Mashhad, Rasht, Karaj, Isfahan and Khorramabad, according to footage circulating on social media.

In Khorramabad, protesters were seen chanting slogans in support of the pre-revolutionary era and raising Iran’s pre-1979 flag in the city’s main square.

Witnesses reported that security forces used live ammunition against demonstrators in Karaj. Demonstrations were also ongoing in Tehran late into the evening.

Videos shared online show protesters setting fire to police posts and damaging monuments to Qassem Soleimani. Iranian authorities have yet to issue an official response.
