Aliyev congratulates Qarabag on Champions League win, calls on UEFA forclarification

 Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev congratulated Qarabag on its victory over Germany’s Eintracht Frankfurt in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League, while criticising refereeing decisions.

In a post on Instagram, Aliyev said that despite what he described as unfair and biased refereeing, justice had prevailed. He added that this was not the first time referees appointed by UEFA had, in his words, attempted to obstruct Qarabag’s path to victory, and said he hoped the organisation would clarify the referee’s appointment.
