Qarabag could face Juventus or Borussia Dortmund in Champions League playoffs
If the league phase of the UEFA Champions League ended after seven rounds, Qarabag would meet either Juventus or Borussia Dortmund in the playoffs.
After seven matches, Qarabag sit 18th with 10 points. Under the competition format, teams finishing 17th–18th play clubs placed 15th–16th, with opponents decided by a draw. Currently, Juventus are 15th, Borussia Dortmund 16th, and Galatasaray 17th.
Further down the bracket, the winners could face tournament leaders Arsenal and Bayern Munich in the round of 16.
However, the decisive eighth round is still to come and could significantly reshape the standings. Qarabag face a tough away trip to Liverpool and are unlikely to hold on to 18th place, though they are also unlikely to drop below 24th.
Playoff matches are scheduled for February 17/18 and 24/25. Teams finishing 17th–24th, where Qarabag are likely to end up, will host the first leg.
