Azerconnect Group held ‘Green Commute’ initiative as part of World Car-Free Day

In connection with World Car-Free Day, marked annually on September 22, Azerconnect Group, one of the country’s leading ICT companies, has successfully completed its month-long ‘Green Commute’ initiative. Launched as part of the company’s broader sustainability strategy, the initiative encouraged employees to reduce the use of private vehicles for commuting and instead choose alternative modes of transportation, including bicycles, buses, among others. The project carried under the motto of 'Let’s remember that every great change starts with small steps", aimed to promote a healthy lifestyle while contributing to environmental protection through the reduction of carbon emissions.

Throughout the month, company employees participated in the initiative, collectively supporting the company’s environmental objectives and reinforcing a culture of responsible and sustainable behavior. To further encourage participation, the company provided employees with free access to rented bicycles throughout the campaign period. During this period, Azerconnect Group employees collectively rode for a total of 82 hours, 26 minutes, 15 seconds, covering almost 1,000 kilometers through sustainable commuting alternative - cycling. The campaign also included an internal competition designed to further motivate engagement and recognize participants who demonstrated outstanding commitment to the initiative. As a company guided by Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, Azerconnect Group continues to integrate sustainability into its operations and corporate culture. Beyond internal initiatives, the company actively supports and contributes to projects implemented across the country that advance environmental awareness and sustainable development.
