Azerbaijan seizes 11.5 tonnes of narcotics in 2025

Azerbaijani authorities seized 11.5 tonnes of narcotics in 2025, up 23.7% from the previous year, the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan said.

A total of 11,539.1 kg of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, precursors and drug-containing plants were confiscated during the year.

The State Border Service of Azerbaijan, together with other law enforcement agencies, prevented the illegal trafficking of 4 tonnes and 311 kg of narcotics, 78,457 psychotropic and potent tablets, and smuggled goods worth 128.26 million manats across the state border.

In addition, 24 tonnes and 585 kg of drug-type plants were destroyed, the committee said.
