Aliyev highlights expanding Turkmenistan ties
Bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan have expanded dynamically in recent years, President Ilham Aliyev stated during his address at the 8th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Azerbaijan and Central Asia in Turkmenbashi.
Noting that five high-level visits have taken place since last year, the head of state emphasized that this reflects the intensity of mutual political dialogue and a shared commitment to deepening bilateral cooperation.
President Ilham Aliyev highlighted the construction of a mosque in the liberated city of Fuzuli, undertaken at the initiative of Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, describing the project as an enduring testament to fraternal spiritual ties. The Azerbaijani leader also underlined that Baku's multi-vector engagement across Central Asia continues to broaden, marked by regular summit-level diplomacy, rising mutual trade and investment volumes, and the implementation of strategic joint initiatives.
