EU gas storage levels dip to 74%, lowest for date since 2011
Underground natural gas storage facilities across the European Union stand at 74.02% capacity, according to data released by Gas Infrastructure Europe (GIE).
The current fullness level is 14.88 percentage points below the five-year average and 9.08 percentage points lower than the 83.1% registered at the same time last year, marking the lowest seasonal reserve reading since tracking began in 2011. Inventories currently hold nearly 80.9 billion cubic meters (bcm), down 10.8 bcm compared to 2025 and representing the lowest volume since 2013.
Under European Commission mandates requiring 90% fullness ahead of winter, net injections must reach at least 68 bcm to meet seasonal targets. Azerbaijani natural gas supplied via the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) continues to serve as a key element of the bloc's supply security.
