Azerbaijan-India Bilateral Trade Reaches $600M in First Nine Months of 2026
Trade turnover between Azerbaijan and India totaled $600 million during the first nine months of 2026, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated on October 23 during a joint press briefing in Baku with Indian External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.
The minister emphasized that this volume does not fully reflect the untapped bilateral potential, pointing to substantial opportunities for broader economic engagement.
Bayramov highlighted the energy sector as a cornerstone of bilateral ties, citing ONGC Videsh’s participation in strategic Azerbaijani energy ventures as clear evidence of strong foundational links. Over 1,000 Indian businesses are currently registered and operating across Azerbaijan.
The minister also recalled that another major Indian firm recently announced investment plans during the 2nd Azerbaijan International Medical Investment Forum. Underscoring India’s global leadership in pharmaceuticals and medical manufacturing—widely present in the Azerbaijani market—Bayramov confirmed that both countries have agreed to foster direct business-to-business partnerships.
