A commercial cargo ship has sunk in the Black Sea off the coast of Romania, with three Azerbaijani and ten Ukrainian nationals aboard, Romanian broadcaster Realitatea Plus reported citing official sources.

The Romanian Naval Forces received a distress call at approximately 10:00 AM. Nine crew members have been rescued alive, one confirmed dead, and three remain missing.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing amid adverse weather conditions that are hampering efforts. The exact cause of the structural failure and subsequent sinking remains unconfirmed.
