Turkey to increase its share of Tanap to 30 percent

Turkey’s share of the planned Trans-Anatolia pipeline, or Tanap, will increase by 10 percent to 30 percent, said Rovnaq Abdullayev, president of Azerbaijan’s state oil company Socar.Socar, which holds 68 percent of Tanap, has agreed to give a 10 percent stake in the pipeline to Turkey at the request of the Turkish government, Abdullayev said in an interview with commercial ANS TV channel.Turkey’s state-owned pipeline company Botas currently has 20 percent of Tanap while BP holds 12 percent.The 2,000 kilometer pipeline will export Azeri gas to Europe via Turkey.
