Iranian hospital director comes under acid attack

A hospital director has come under an acid attack in the Iranian capital of Tehran, Mehr news agency reported on 29 November.

Mehr said that the director of Ziyaian Hospital in southern Tehran, Doctor Anvari, was attacked by two men on a motorbike, while heading to his residence this evening. The report said that he sustained injuries to his eyes after acid was thrown at him. Anvari was immediately taken to a clinic where he received treatments. 

Mehr added that a special police unit would pursue the case.
