He made his World Cup debut in 2010 while still playing for Shalke, but soon after the World Cup made a move to European giants Bayern Munich. He is a key component of this German side that hopes to keep a positive record in the World Cup.3. Vincent Kompany - CBThe best centre-back in the Premier League and captain of Manchester City will be making his debut in an International tournament with his national side in this upcoming World Cup. The Belgium skipper will be the most important factor if Belgium are to have any success in Brazil.4. Thiago Silva - CBConsidered by some to be the best centre-back in the world, he will be the most important player in his national side if Brazil want to repeat the success they had over the summer in the Confederations Cup. Brazil have a little more pressure on them since they are expected to win on their home soil.5. Ashley Cole - LBOne of the best left-backs in the history of the game will be hoping to leave his mark on Brazil this summer. Ashley Cole has been a consistent member of the Three Lions ever since making his debut and has proven time after time why he is the best in the world.6. Cristiano Ronaldo - LWPossibly the best player of 2013 and future Ballon D'Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo is one the players to watch in this summer's World Cup. He hopes to lead Portugal to a World Cup title this summer and cement his place in the books as one of the greatest players to have ever played the game.7. Andres Iniesta - CMIt will be hard to top his performance from the 2010 World Cup in which he scored the game winning goal, in extra time against the Netherlands, in the Final. If Spain hope to repeat the success they had in South Africa, then "Don" Andres will have to have another wonderful World Cup.8. Yaya Toure - CMPossibly the most complete midfielder in the game today, Yaya Toure can do absolutely everything. Not only can he defend, but he can also help out on the other side of the pitch with a valuable goal. Ivory Coast were eliminated in the Group Stage in their first two appearances in the World Cup and they will be hoping to make a big impact this time around.9. Arjen Robben - RWFor a while, it seemed that Arjen Robben was destined to lose every final he played in after having lost the Champions League final and World Cup final in the same year. Lionel Messi - STWithout a doubt the best player in the world and maybe in the history of the game, is Argentinian Lionel Messi. One thing that has always haunted Messi, however, have been his performances with his national side.That said, after a very strong qualifying round, he will hope to make an impact in Brazil by leading Argentina to World Cup success and cementing himself as the greatest player ever.11.
