Trump pushes aides for autumn meeting with Kim Jong Un, WSJ reports
US President Donald Trump is pressing aides to arrange an in-person meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un this autumn, Vesti.az reported, citing TASS and The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).
According to sources familiar with internal discussions, Trump explored with advisers the possibility of holding bilateral talks with Kim during his upcoming trip to Asia. The US president is expected to travel to the region in November to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in Shenzhen.
The WSJ noted, however, that formal preparations for a potential summit between the US and North Korean leaders have not yet been initiated.
