Rosselkhoznadzor awaits Armenian roadmap to ease import curb
Russia's Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance (Rosselkhoznadzor) is awaiting the results of Armenia's investigation into detected sanitary violations along with a concrete corrective action plan, TASS reported.
The Russian regulator stated that timelines for potentially easing or lifting current trade restrictions hinge on Yerevan presenting verifiable data on remedial measures and a defined framework ensuring adherence to Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) veterinary and phytosanitary standards.
Russia previously imposed import restrictions on a broad range of Armenian goods, encompassing mineral water, alcoholic beverages, fruits, vegetables, and dairy products. During an August 13 meeting with Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan, Russian Agriculture Minister Oksana Lut emphasized that stringent pesticide monitoring, full supply chain traceability, and the reliance of processors on verified raw materials are essential prerequisites for resuming agricultural shipments to the Russian market.
