Guided bombs, also known as smart bombs, are currently being tested-fired, Yavar Camalov, minister of the defense industry, told reporters in Baku on Dec. 17.

The country showcased examples of its guided bombs at ADEX-2014 arms show in Baku in September.

Camalov also said Azerbaijan exported $100 million of weapons this year. He didn’t specify what Azerbaijan’s arms producers exported or who the buyers were.

He said the ministry is in talks with potential new buyers in Uzbekistan, Egypt and Malaysia.

Azerbaijan can more than double its arms exports if the talks are completed successfully, the minister said.
