The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia has responded to a diplomatic note submitted by Azerbaijan concerning delays faced by Azerbaijani-registered cargo trucks at border checkpoints, Aktual.ge reports.

The ministry stated that the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Georgia submitted an official request on August 5 regarding delays during the entry and transit of heavy goods vehicles through the republic. The information was promptly relayed to Georgia's competent state authorities, who are taking legal measures to address the identified violations.

Earlier, a group of Azerbaijani drivers engaged in transit transport through Georgia experienced prolonged delays at several border control posts, with some vehicles held for over a month without official clarification. Consequently, the Azerbaijani Embassy dispatched a diplomatic note to the Georgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
