Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports rise 17.6% in January-August
Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports rose 17.6% year-on-year to $2.81 billion in January-August 2026, according to the September issue of the Export Review prepared by the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication.
Non-oil exports alone rose 13% year-on-year to $350.8 million in August. Food products accounted for $80.7 million, while non-food products made up $251.1 million. Non-food exports increased 11.4%.
The biggest increase in January-August was recorded in sugar exports, which rose 2.3 times. Exports of cotton yarn increased 62.2%, aluminium and related products 42.8%, vegetable and animal fats and oils 30.2%, ferrous metals and related products 20.5%, cotton fibre 17.8%, fruit and vegetables 13.7%, and tea 12.1%.
Agricultural exports rose 19.2% to $732 million, while exports of agro-industrial products increased 22.1% to $255.8 million. Combined agricultural and agro-industrial exports rose 19.9% to $987.8 million.
Excluding non-monetary gold, gold accounted for the largest share of Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports in January-August, at $271.2 million. Copper ores and concentrates ranked second at $183.7 million, followed by tomatoes at $172.2 million.
In August, the top three exported products were gold at $36.8 million, copper ores and concentrates at $31.7 million, and peaches, including nectarines, at $29.4 million.
Russia was the main destination for Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports in January-August, with exports worth $814.2 million.
Exports to Turkey amounted to $435 million, followed by Georgia at $386.5 million, Switzerland at $284.4 million and Ukraine at $101.1 million.
Russia also led in August with $82.5 million in non-oil exports, followed by Georgia at $58.5 million, Turkey at $44.4 million, Switzerland at $37.9 million and Ukraine at $16.1 million.
