Rustam GasimovThe first solo exhibition of a talented illustrator artist Gulnara Khalykova called Puppets is taking place in the Natavan Gallery. At the opening of the event there were a lot of guests, including members of the media. The subject chosen by the artist is in itself of interest due to its eccentricity. Gulnara Khalykova with her works tried to acquaint the city audience with the nightlife girls who spend most of their time in the bars of the capital, discos and various get-togethers that are actively involved in the city's nightlife. The title of the exhibition - Puppets - alludes to the fact that sometimes independent girls disappearing in nightclubs of the capital may unwittingly become toys in the hands of someone when their destinies begin to be managed by the stronger sex.In the pictures in different colors and expressive richness you can see half-naked girls drinking cocktails, smoking hookah and just carelessly going. The ladies depicted in the works are reminiscent of some representatives of domestic show business and the collective image of the fair sex. In the paintings by the artist there is a feeling of some lightness of the carefree and merry at first glance lifestyle that her heroines lead.Gulnara Khalykova can rightly be called an illustrator with great experience, because during her career, she has collaborated with different editions. Since 1992, in parallel with studies, Khalykova began working with the magazine Balbala - an application for the publication Azerbaijan Gadyny, as well as with children's encyclopedia published by Zerkalo. Besides, Khalykova cooperated with Moscow publications, such as the company Art & Design and the magazines Teztur and Cosmopolitan, making postcards and illustrations for them. And now Khalykova works as a main artist in the magazines Oyuncaq and Banu.ANN.Az never neglects cultural events held in our city, so we present to you a photo session of the works by the illustrator artist Gulnara Khalykova.
