bp and partners invest over $89 billion in Azerbaijan projects

bp and its partners have invested more than $89 billion in oil and gas exploration, development and transportation projects during 34 years of operations in Azerbaijan, bp’s Caspian regional vice-president Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli said.

He said bp and the partners in the projects it operates had also spent more than $115 million on social investment programmes in Azerbaijan.

The programmes have focused on education, professional skills, local communities, entrepreneurship, environmental protection, sport and cultural heritage.

bp currently employs 2,322 Azerbaijani nationals, representing more than 90% of its skilled workforce in the country.
