Azerbaijan’s natural gas exports to European Union countries have increased by 56% since 2021, SOCAR executives said in an interview with Euronews.

SOCAR Deputy Vice-President Vitaliy Baylarbayov said the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the South Caucasus gas pipeline were key routes linking Caspian energy resources with global markets.

Azerbaijani gas is delivered to Europe through the roughly 3,500-km Southern Gas Corridor.

Italy remained the largest European buyer of Azerbaijani gas in 2025, importing 9.5 billion cubic metres, equivalent to about 16% of its total gas imports.

SOCAR Operations Director Elkhan Sultanov said continuous monitoring of the corridor was essential to ensure safe and uninterrupted energy supplies to Europe.
