Iran’s IRGC says it struck two tankers in Strait of Hormuz
Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it struck two tankers that attempted to pass through the Strait of Hormuz without coordinating with the Iranian authorities.
Tasnim news agency cited the IRGC as saying the vessels ignored warnings after relying on statements from the U.S. Central Command. Two tankers were stopped after the incident and four others changed course, it said.
The IRGC also said it had previously warned shipping and insurance companies not to follow CENTCOM guidance.
There was no independent confirmation of the strikes or the condition of the vessels.
