Marcos Athias Neto, UN Assistant Secretary-General, UNDP Assistant Administrator, and Director of Bureau for Policy and Programme Support, said that Azerbaijan's presidency at the COP will achieve good results, UNDP posted on X.

Neto noted that "COP29 is the finance top. It’s the COP that has to agree on a new way quantifiable climate finance goal."

He added that the green transition is going to cost trillions of dollars.

"For this reason, we need a system that determines financial ambitions, which should be agreed in Baku in November. As the UNDP, we would like to support the government of Azerbaijan and the entire international community should help the COP presidency to achieve the goal. This is a very important issue, I am sure that Azerbaijan's presidency will be able to achieve good results", Neto added
