Mirzoyan: There is progress in Armenia-Azerbaijan border delimitation

Azerbaijan and Armenia are closer than ever to signing a peace treaty, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan said in an interview with Finnish publication Lannen Media.

"The border exists, and we know where it is. This is defined by the 1991 Alma-Ata Declaration. Naturally, the commissions of the two countries should work together on future delimitation and precise demarcation. Border demarcation is a guarantee of future stability," said the minister.

Speaking about opening communications, Mirzoyan noted that Armenia and Azerbaijan can reach solutions that will be acceptable to both sides.

"We can organize the transit of Armenian goods through Azerbaijan's territory and, conversely, Azerbaijani goods through Armenia's territory. At the first stage, we can restore railway transit and gradually expand it," Mirzoyan stated.
