Georgia-Azerbaijan bilateral trade rises over 13%

Bilateral trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan reached $959.6 million in January–August 2026, marking a 13.4% year-on-year increase, according to preliminary figures released by the National Statistics Office of Georgia.

With a 5.4% share in Georgia's total foreign trade, Azerbaijan ranked as its fifth-largest trading partner, trailing Turkey, China, Russia, and the United States. Georgian exports to Azerbaijan edged up 5.1% to $484.5 million (an 8.9% share in total exports, ranking fourth), while imports of Azerbaijani goods jumped 23% to $475.1 million (a 3.8% share, ranking sixth).

Georgia's total foreign trade turnover during the eight-month period rose 8.4% year-on-year to $17.9 billion, comprising $5.42 billion in exports and $12.50 billion in imports.
