SOCAR has no plans to buy Total’s fuel stations in Turkey

SOCAR Turkey Enerji AS has no plans to buy Total’s gasoline filling stations in Turkey, the company’s CEO Kenan Yavuz told reporters in Istanbul.

Yavuz said SOCAR Turkey may consider retail fuel sale after its Star refinery starts operating.

"But it’s too early to say anything at this point,” Yavuz said.

Petkim, Turkey’s first and only petrochemical complex owned by SOCAR, will save $50 million annually in transportation costs alone after SOCAR’s Star refinery is put into operation, he said. Petkim will save a total of $150 million a year thanks to Star refinery operations, he said.
