Baku police and transport agency tighten road safety controls near schools
Traffic authorities in Baku are reinforcing road safety protocols across school zones in anticipation of the new academic year, according to a joint statement by the State Traffic Police and the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency (AYNA).
With vehicle and pedestrian congestion projected to rise significantly around educational institutions, joint inspector teams are conducting comprehensive audits of school-adjacent intersections, traffic sign visibility, and road surface markings to remediate infrastructure shortcomings.
Priority is placed on upgrading zebra crossings, regulatory signage, and traffic-calming assets directly fronting school gates to ensure maximum safety for commuting students.
