Azerbaijan Railways talks on work in territories liberated from occupation

Azerbaijan Railways CJSC continued, according to the schedule, work on the construction of railways and railway infrastructure in accordance with the instructions of President Ilham Aliyev to create the necessary infrastructure in the territories liberated from occupation, reported from the joint-stock company.

The design work on the 140.6 km Horadiz-Agband railway line, which is scheduled to be finalized in 2024, has been completed by 78%, and construction work by 38% (53.2 km).

As a route of international importance, the Horadiz-Agband railway will play a significant role in freight traffic between Asia and Europe in the near future.

On the section of the railway line Horadiz-Agband, 85% of the construction work on the construction of a railway bridge across the Khakari River with a length of 418 meters and having 13 spans has been completed. The longest railway bridge in Azerbaijan will stimulate the growth of cargo transportation between the countries of the region.

Significant progress has also been made in the restoration of the Barda-Aghdam railway: the construction work here has been completed by 64%.
