Azerbaijan remains leader among Türkiye's gas suppliers in May

Azerbaijan exported over 4.68 billion cubic meters of gas to Türkiye in January-May 2024, 5.6% more year-on-year, reported from the Turkish Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK).

In May 2024, Azerbaijan exported 1.008 billion cubic meters of natural gas to Türkiye, 9.24% more than in May last year.

Thus, in May, Azerbaijan retained its leadership among the countries exporting natural gas to Türkiye. Azerbaijan accounted for 35% of all natural gas imported by Türkiye in May.

In total, Türkiye imported 2.882 billion cubic meters (a decrease of 21.94%) of gas in May. At the same time, pipeline gas accounted for 2.336 billion cubic meters (81.06% of all supplies, a decline of 17.49%), and the amount of the imported liquefied natural gas (LNG) was 545.86 million cubic meters (18.94% of all supplies, a decline of 36.56%).

In May, six countries (Azerbaijan, Russia, Iran - pipelines, the US, Egypt, Algeria - liquefied natural gas) exported gas to Türkiye.
