Azerbaijan’s Aliyev meets Italian minister to discuss energy, reconstruction projects

Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev met with Italy’s Minister for Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, in Mingachevir on Monday to discuss bilateral ties and joint energy and infrastructure projects.

Aliyev thanked Urso for attending the opening ceremony of the “8 November” power station and praised Italy’s role in its construction. He highlighted the involvement of Italian firms in reconstruction efforts on territories liberated from occupation, and emphasized potential cooperation between Azərenerji and Italy’s Ansaldo.

Urso recalled his 2020 visits to Ganja and Aghdam, and welcomed the strategic nature of bilateral ties. The sides also discussed expanding cooperation in renewable energy, metallurgy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, education and science.
