Armenian authorities are considering assigning management of the prospective Zangezur Corridor to a private company with U.S. involvement, local media reported. Hakob Simidyan, a former environment minister, recently registered a firm that could be given the role.

On July 4, U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Tom Barrack said Washington is ready to lease the corridor for 100 years to support peace talks between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The proposal, reportedly backed by Turkey, involves a U.S. private company operating the route.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan confirmed that Armenia is exploring the creation of an infrastructure investment company, citing similar outsourcing models already in place, such as the Zvartnots Airport and the South Caucasus Railway.
