Armenia detains former Gazprom Armenia head on corruption charges

 Armenia’s Anti-Corruption Committee has detained former Gazprom Armenia chief executive Vardan Arutyunyan on charges of illegal business activity, money laundering and breaching competition rules, local media reported on Friday, citing the agency.

Arutyunyan served as CEO of Gazprom Armenia from 2016 to 2018 and earlier headed the country’s State Revenue Committee.
