Russia extradites Khalilov to Azerbaijan

Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office has extradited Azerbaijani national Akber Tariyel oglu Khalilov at the request of Azerbaijan’s Prosecutor General and under the 2002 Convention on Legal Assistance.

Khalilov had been wanted internationally on charges of repeated fraud committed by a group using official positions, a case currently under investigation by the Garadagh district police in Baku.

After being detained in Russia, he was transferred to Azerbaijan under escort by the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
