Azerbaijan reports over 11,200 people living with HIV

A total of 11,260 people have been officially registered as living with HIV in Azerbaijan from 1987 through the end of Q3 2025, the Ministry of Health told Report.

Seventy percent of registered cases are men and 30% women. The ministry noted that Azerbaijan detected its first HIV case in 1987 and remains among the Eastern Europe and Central Asia countries with the lowest HIV prevalence rates.

December 1 is marked globally as World AIDS Day.
