Four killed in apartment fire in Baku residential complex

A fire in an apartment block in the Qobu Park-1 residential complex in Baku’s Lokbatan settlement killed four people, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said.

Firefighters and a special-risk rescue unit were deployed to the scene. The blaze broke out in a seventh-floor apartment of a nine-storey building and was extinguished quickly, preventing it from spreading to neighbouring units.

The ministry said 13 square metres of kitchen and corridor structures in the two-room, 45-square-metre apartment were burned. Residents of the building were evacuated as a safety measure.
