The “Shirvan” crane vessel operated by Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company (ASCO) has completed a major overhaul.

The overhaul included repairs to the winch system, oil and water coolers, air tank fittings, various pumps, separators, compressors, auxiliary engine generators, electric motors and piping systems. Automation, navigation equipment and electrical systems were also inspected and serviced.

Crew living quarters, sanitary facilities and mess rooms were refurbished, while watertight doors, portholes and ventilation hatches were repaired.

The 100-ton crane boom and all guide rings were dismantled, overhauled and reinstalled, with all crane wires replaced.

Main and auxiliary engines were repaired by specialists from a floating workshop of the Caspian Sea Oil Fleet.

Following successful crane and sea trials, the vessel was handed over to classification register representatives.

The “Shirvan” crane vessel is 98.5 metres long and 17 metres wide, and is powered by two main engines rated at 2,400 horsepower each.
